BEARD, Carlton Brewer, 75, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on the morning of February 14, 2009 after a sustained illness. He will be remembered and missed by his loving wife, Helen Beard; son, Keith Beard; daughter, Cynthia Beard; step-daughters, Barbie Blair and Sandra Davenport; and his grandson, Joshua Davenport. Carlton was born on July 29, 1933. He served bravely in the army during the Korean War. After 33 years of service, he retired from AT&T. It is the wishes of his family that his life be celebrated at a memorial service on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association of Va., 9221 Forest Hill Ave., Richmond, Va. 23235.
