Not sure what to say?

Carlton (and Elizabeth), I was your babysitter when you were small. I had no idea that you´d passed away, and I´m so sorry such a bright light was dimmed too early. You were both on my wedding, and I think of you with affection so often.

Clicking through memories of our wonderful Carlton makes me happy and thankful for his many friends who keep him alive for all of us. He was a wonderful friend and life isn't the same without him. He lit up our lives. As happy as I am I also am sad and miss him very much.

Can't believe it's been a year already. Thinking about C these days with my family. All the best to his friends and family too.

School starts back in just a few hours and I can only think of how you would be so excited to see your people...but that you just might need one more day...We miss you! Michael, Ann, Mac and Zel

Just came in from the last walk of the day with your girl, Sophie (our ancient cocker spaniel) and the undecorated tree in the lobby as of today made me think of this time last year, when Carlton and I realized Chanukah was TOMORROW and we had to decorate the lobby RIGHT NOW...and we did it RIGHT NOW and it was hilarious, followed by loads of chardonnay. We miss you, love. Loads of love and joy of the season to you wherever you are and to all who love you far and near. xoPerry and David

Hey Carly, YOU have been on my mind so much lately. I miss you every day. I miss all of our long conversations solving the problems of the world...BUT most of all I miss laughing with you listening to your wonderful stories. With family gatherings quickly approaching I'll be thinking of you...
Love you, Jamaal

Hey, love, we're coming up on Thanksgiving -our holiday...David and I are starting to put the menu in play and looking for someone to start chopping...where are you, big man? Hope you're in a happy place and looking down on us with a smile....xo:Perry

I have been thinking about Carlton a lot lately. Our mutual friend Denise Bryson passed on some of his pigs to me. I guess it was only fitting since his pet name for me was "Pigs". They make me very happy! I have a big ceramic pig that I have placed on my hearth. I also have a few smaller ones that have lined my window sill where the sink in the kitchen is. I sometimes find myself shouting up at the air saying ..." I miss you Carlton you are so very loved!" It is truly a surreal world...

I came across news of Carlton's death today quite by accident. I met Carlton over 20 years ago when we worked in a Falls Church (VA) restaurant (Dalts). The staff was young (most if us in college) and we played as hard as we worked. Carlton always made any shift he worked more bearable. I lost touch with him in the early 90s but I am happy to see the wonderful things written about him. I did not know he had become a teacher, but knowing that now, I can totally imagine it. I wished I had been...
