Not sure what to say?

Chip & Rip,

While in Charlotte for the holiday I learned from Steve Price that your dad died. I'm so sorry I didn't know sooner. Steve was a great guy, and a good friend when I lived in Charlotte and was an ASM at Troop 33. We enjoyed many hours together traveling and hiking at Philmont and camping around the Carolinas.

As one of Mr. Clardy's Eagle Scouts I can tell you without his support I would not have become an Eagle. I look at the successes in my life and his influence on me made them happen. Thanks for everything Steve you touched many lives.

Steve Clardy was a guiding light for so many young men through his leadership in Scouting. He took such a personal interest in the individual, and he cheered you on to succeed. I had the opportunity to visit him at Basic Electric well into my adult life after my years in Troop 33. He still exhibited a keen interest in those he mentored. We all carry a piece of Steve Clardy with us. I thank God for his being the role model he was, and know I was blessed to know him. God comfort all of his...

A great man and a great leader. I'm proud to have earned my Eagle Scout award while he was Scoutmaster, and he taught me so much that I still live by today. While my father was out of the country on business in the mid-70s, Mr. Clardy was practically a father-figure, and my dad much appreciated it. Happy Hunting, Mr. Clardy.
(P.S.--If you were one of his scouts, you know what I mean when I say I can hardly watch TV without remembering his admonitions for us not to waste time watching...

I was saddened to learn of Steve Clardy's passing. He was such a great Scout Leader and a pillar of the community. Steve Clardy was a kind Scoutmaster and Scouting leader. He exemplified the Scout Oath and Scout Law. We were in the same Scouting District for many years and I always found Steve to be a helpful fellow Scout Leader and he could always provide a friendly word of advice. When I served...

Mr. Clardy was a very generous and friendly man.

Mr. Clardy was very friendly, and had a great sense of humor.

Such great memories of my time in Troop 33 thanks to Steve, a great man and leader. I spent last night looking over old pics of adventures he took us boys on. He left if better then he found it.

I worked for Mr. Clardy at Basic Electric years ago. He was a wonderful and generous man. He let me and my boys stay at the Rocking B Farm in Sparta and drove up to show us around. He also let us stay at the Boardwalk and his home in Myrtle Beach. I visited with him at Basic Electric about a month ago. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
