I taught with Carmella at Plainfield High School for three years. Her sense of humour and incredible wit made her history classes memorable. She was an inspiring teacher and a good friend. I just learned of her passing this evening from another one of our colleagues. She will be greatly missed. She valued her students and her friends and gave incredible passion to her history lectures. Although I met Carmela during her few years teaching Social Studies at Plainfield High School, she was a highly skilled educator with a strong sense of caring for our students. I admired her teaching style and her concern for both students and colleagues. In Greek, we say, "May her memory be eternal". My sympathies.
