Carmela "Millie" DeCesare, of Pen Argyl, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Anthony "JP" DeCesare, who passed away, December 12, 1960. Born in Bangor, she was the daughter of the late Domenico A. and Filomena (Sachetti) Ruggiero, Sr. Millie was a life time member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Pen Argyl where she was a 75 year member of the Daughters of Mary Sodality and sang in the choir at the old St. Elizabeth's Church from it's opening until it's closing. For 45 years, she was an Avon Representative. Millie especially enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved dancing, singing, listening to Big Bands and feeding birds and cats. She is survived by two sons, Ronald A. DeCesare and his wife Audrey of Pen Argyl, Kenneth DeCesare and his wife Diane of Cape Coral, FL, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two sisters, Mamie Burns of Glen Ridge, NJ, and Angelina DeLessio of Washington Township. In addition to her husband and parents, four sisters, Marion DeRea, Vincene Ruggiero, Mary LaPenna, and Lucy Modolo, and three brothers, Daniel A. Ruggiero, Leonard Ruggiero and Domenico A. Ruggiero, Jr. all preceded her in death A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Thursday, August 11, 2016, at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl with the Rev. Monsignor Vincent P. York celebrating. There will be viewing hours Wednesday evening beginning at 6 PM until 8 PM at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC. www.rugggierofuneralhome.com, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl and Thursday beginning at 10 AM until 10:45 AM at the church. Interment will be in St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Pen Argyl. Memorial donations may be offered to the Daughters of Mary Sodality, C/O St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl, PA 18072.
