DEVANNEY, Carmela M. (Carlo) Carmela M. (Carlo) Devanney, 86, of Wethersfield, beloved widow of Albert R. Devanney, Jr. died, Wednesday, (December 3, 2008), at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Michael and Maria (Maselli) Carlo and had lived most of her life in Wethersfield. Carmela worked as an administrative assistant for area manufacturers. She was a communicant of Incarnation Church and a former member of the church's choir. She was an avid bowler and bowled until her recent illness. She loved the UCONN basketball program. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. She is survived by, two sons, Michael J. Devanney and his wife Joanne of Wethersfield, with whom she made her home, and Harold J. Devanney of Burlington, a daughter, Marie D. Mikan of Wethersfield, grandchildren, Kim and John Brazel, Karrie and Michael Buerk, Natalie Mikan and her fiancé Todd Jones, Erik Mikan and his best friend Antonia Nagy, Deana and John Hutson Darcey and Michael Heywosz, Douglas and Patrick Devanney, great grandchildren, Courtney, Victoria, Alexandra, Austin, Adam, Lucas and Jack, two brothers, Russell Carlo and his wife Rosemary, of Rocky Hill, Nicholas Carlo and his wife Betty of Manchester and Florida, her beloved sister, Mildred Herms of Wethersfield and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be TODAY Tuesday, December 9, 2008, 10:15 a.m. from The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St. Wethersfield. Burial will follow in the family plot of Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery. Friends may call at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, Tuesday, 8:15-10:15 a.m prior to the funeral.
