Mrs. Carmelita Fowler Stewart, 64, a resident of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025 in Beaumont. Texas. 


Celebration Service for Mrs. Stewart will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church located at (3920 W. Cardinal Dr., Beaumont, Texas 77705) with burial service to follow at Anthony Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas under the direction of Mercy Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas.  A public viewing will be held for Mrs. Stewart on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 P.M. and Visitation on Saturday, from, 8:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas. Social distancing will be practiced and facial masks are recommended.


 


Mrs. Carmelita Hughette Stewart, 64, depared this life August 23, 2025 at St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Carmelita was born March 22, 1961, to Mary Annette Fowler and Hugh Fowler. She attended church with her parents at Pioneer Presbyterian church on Lucas Street in Beaumont Texas.
Carmelita graduated from French High Class of 1979. She enjoyed playing the piano and the violin (played 5 different instruments) Carmelita left Beaumont to pursue her dreams of being a doctor and attended Steven F. Austin in Nacogdoches Texas.
Carmelita left college and met Dorsey Sias whom she married January 15, 1979, to this union, they were blessed with six children. Later in life she reunited and married Ronald Stewart (Fellow Class of 79 Classmate) on September 13, 1991 from their union they were blessed with a baby girl. Carmelita and Ronald Love conquered, all and remained Faithfully married until her on timely passing.
Carmelita was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Arnette Fowler; birth mother, Barbara Martin; father, Hugh Fowler; siblings, Robert Lewis, Kenneth Lewis, Brenda Lewis, Charlotte Lewis; her grandson, Jamichael Chapman; and many aunts and uncles.
Carmelita memories will forever remain in the hearts of her seven children, Tyquisha Chapman, JeremySias, Ashley Sias, Keona Sias, Shatara Sias, Andre Sias and Shena Stewart; her siblings, Tammy Simmons, Steve Martin, Corine Mitchel, Nancy Allison, Pat Allison and Roxi Pearson; her twenty-seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family members and friends.
