Not sure what to say?

Little Granny always made me feel a loved and valued part of her family, even from day one. Her love, care and encouragement for me never faltered, through good times and bad, through peace and strife, through joy and pain. When she was with me she made me feel like I was the most important person to her at that moment. She made me feel special. I soon learned that she was the one who was special--she made everyone feel that way! That kind of unconditional love is truly from God. My...

Dear Grandmom,
We all miss you very much. It's sad to know that you're not here with us anymore, but I'm sure that you're ok. I'm sure that you're up there taking care of Grandpop, making sure that he has a dish of spinach and potatoes in front of him, while Uncle Danny sits at the other end of the table, smoking a ciggarette, with that big big smile that we all remember.

Eulogy by Richard J. Fratanduono
August 22, 2005

Good morning. On behalf of the family, I’d like to thank each of you for coming today.

Now, I’d like to say a few words about my Grandmom, Carmella Barone.

Grandmom was born in 1915. In her 90 years of life, she witnessed tremendous change in the world. Just imagine, 50 years before she was born, America was embroiled in Civil War and people got around in horse buggies. A little more than 50 years after...

My Grandmother was the most remarkable woman in the world. She touched everyone she ever came in contact with. Her smile and her big blue eye's could brighten anyone's day. She was the heart and soul of our family, a true treasure. I can't imagine a day will go by that I won't think of my grandmother in some way... some words of wisdom, her beautiful face, her loving hugs. I am so blessed to be her grandaughter. I miss her more than I could ever say. She will be in my heart forever.

CARMELLA WAS A TRULY BEAUTIFUL WOMAN BOTH INSIDE AND OUT. WE LOVED HER AND SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY.
