Alicea, Carmelo A. February 12, 2011. Age 92 of Melvindale. Beloved husband of Julia. Loving father of Jose (Sharon) Alicea, Carmen Julia (Jose) Lopez, Angelina (Al) Cotto, and Francisco (the late Pauline) Mojica. Dear brother of Teresa Cuevas, and Candida Saurez. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Mr. Alicea served overseas in the Army during WWII, He also was a proud retiree of Great Lakes Steel after 30 years of dedicated service. Loyal member of the All in the Family Club. Visitation Monday February 14, 2011 2:00-9:00 pm at Voran Funeral Home 5900 Allen Rd. (Allen Park Chapel). Funeral Tuesday February 15, 2011, In state 9:30 a.m. with Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church 19624 Wood St. (Melvindale). Internment Woodmere Cemetery (Detroit). I'll always remember Mr. Alicia coming over in October reminding me to plant my garlic during the full moon. LOL. He was a wonderful neighbor who watched out for me and even my dog. I will miss him greatly.
