Not sure what to say?

I was so saddened by the news of Carmen's passing. It feels impossible that such a force of nature is gone. Condolences for the family, she was a treasure.

My deepest condolences to you all for this great loss. Carmen was my classmate and the best of friends at Theodore Roosevelt HS. Carmen was a great inspiration to me and our whole high school class, which Carmen built on throughout her life and career.

Love and condolences to the family. I met her during the Kennedy Center run of Treemonisha and marveled at her voice and gentle spirit. She will be missed.

Earth´s loss is Heaven´s gain. We thank God for sharing this treasure with us. May his comfort be with the family as we extend our condolences, prayer, and love!

Carmen was not only a very distinguished singer and teacher, but she also committed her talents and time to making the whole University better through her work on University Senate committees. She was a delight to work with on any task she chose - and is deeply missed! Jerry

I wouldve loved to have met her...speak to her....radiate from her presence. She attended the same high school as my mother and went to Catholic U. While i was only a...

Scriptures direct us to give thanks in all things. Thus all praises to God are due for the life, labors, loves and longevity of Carmen Balthrop . I have a wonderous respect for the opportunity of singing in the first production of Houston Grand Opera's Treemonisha with her. It afforded me the opportunity to see her launch out into her career as an opera singer. Being a graduate student in music at that time, for me it was a "master class" . And with my understanding of her...
