Not sure what to say?

Carmen was an excellent softball player; he managed and sponsored his own team. He was a loyal member of the AmVets....always on-call to help someone in need. He loved pizza. We would often drive to New Brunswick to his favorite pizza place----a carry-over perhaps from his Rutgers days. Good memories.........

Joan Ream, Heath, Texas, Mrs. Carmen Orechio, 1955-1962

Mr. Orechio was always supportive to the small group of parents who made it their mission to give special needs adults a daily program of their own. The Special Young Adults program was a true labor of love and Mr. Orechio listened to their concerns and needs as the program grew and gave his support in countless ways for the past 40plus years SYA has been in existence. And he didn't hesitate to begin transportation for local special needs adults needing to be transported to programs and...

Alex DiAntonio and Family, To the Orechio,Ciccone and Mirucki Families, Four words that describe Carmen Orechio, Honesty Integrity Compassion and Conviction. He was Nutley and Nutley was him. "HE WAS THE LAST AND THE GREATEST OF THE NUTLEY ICONS". There will never be another CARMEN A. ORECHIO. Carmen was REVERED by everyone from Nutley to Trenton and to Washington. He was a great Humanitarian. My family and I were lucky to have known him. He was like a second Father to me most of my life. To...

So very sad to learn that Carmen has passed away.

I was married to Carmen from 1955 to 1962. He was a dedicated public servant who served his constituency very well.

When Carmen and I lived on the second floor of his mother's building on Washington St./Ave. we had many Nutley friends whom we saw quite often......the Dimichinos, Cocchiolas, Restainos,Citrinos, etc.

Carmen often accompanied me to Holy Family Church where I was a choir soloist for many years. He was...

Our family will forever be grateful for Carmen's help at a difficult time. We will never forget his kindness and support.

May Sen. Carmen be rewarded for his many efforts in service to the Community. I recall how interested he was in my ministry at St. Mary Parish,Nutley. He will be remembered at Mass this week. Sincere sympathy to his family.

Death took Carmen away; but his unselfish good works, his dedication to community service, his sincere caring, his counsel and his wisdom survives him - it does not die with him. He lives forever in our reality, in our minds, in our consciousness and in our eternity. If community service is the dues that we pay to be members of the human race, then Carmen's dues have been paid in full.

I played on Carmen's softball teams in the late 1960's and found him to be a kind and generous man. His life was truly one well lived.
