My first memory of Carmine was at a Christmas Eve celebration long ago in the early 70's.. It was at the home of Joe and Rachel Fazio. I didn't know anyone there and I felt nervous and isolated as my friend went to talk with his brother. I was sitting all alone on a sofa and feeling so nervous and out of place, when Carmine came over and sat with me sharing some conversation and helping to make me feel welcomed.
