Carol Jean Backman, 65, Bismarck, went to Heaven with family by her side Feb. 1, 2022.
Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4 at First Lutheran Church, 800 N Seventh St., Bismarck.

I had a lovely visit with Carol on January 1st. I surprised her with 2 laptop quilts that I made especially for her. She also showed me all her crafty things she had in her room. And we shared many stories. We were planning to have coffee together after the cold spell. I´m saddened that this won´t happen now. She was such a pleasant, cheerful lady. I always enjoyed visiting with her. I will miss her.
