Carol Barz

Carol Barz (nee Emrich) peacefully passed away on March 5, 2025, in Saratoga Springs, NY, with loved ones at her side. Born on November 16, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Fritz and Wilhelmina Emrich.

Carol graduated from Queens College with a degree in legal secretary studies and had a distinguished career working for MGM Studios in Manhattan's legal department, as well as at several respected private law firms in New York and Springfield, Massachusetts.

She was an avid traveler, exploring Europe, Panama, and Costa Rica, and a passionate golfer, achieving a hole in one at age 77 on the 6th hole of the Iron Forge Course at Penn National Golf Club.

Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Erwin Barz, her brother William Emrich, and her sister Elizabeth Wachsmuth. She is survived by her children, Walter Barz of Agawam, MA, and Karla Conway and her husband, George, of Saratoga Springs, NY. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Kelsey McCarthy and her husband, JT, Megan and her fiancé, Steven Celeste, Mikala, Gunnar, and Margaret.

Funeral services will be private.

Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, located at 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY.
