Carol Carter Farlee, 89, was born Carol June Taber on September 1, 1936, and passed away from this life to her Heavenly home on September 21, 2025, after a lengthy fight with Alzheimer’s Disease. Throughout her illness she possessed strength and determination that amazed her caregivers and family.
Carol was born in Seymour, Texas to John T. Taber and Robbie Joe (Barham) Taber. She grew up in Seymour and was a graduate of Seymour High School. Later in life, she had the opportunity to attend college and was a proud Summa Cum Laude graduate of Midwestern State University’s West College of Education. On January 31, 1958, Carol married Bob Carter, and they were married until his death on September 3, 1994. Together they had three children and built a very successful State Farm Insurance Agency. Prior to having children, Carol worked at Mobil Oil Company for many years. On November 11, 2011, Carol married Roy Farlee and they were married until her death. They spent time travelling and enjoying life.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Taber; and her husband, Bob Carter.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Farlee of Randlett, Oklahoma; three children, Karen Woodruff and husband, Mason of Decatur, Texas, Kelly Bob Carter and wife, Belinda of Burkburnett, Texas and Chris Carter and wife, Jody of Fort Worth, Texas; five grandchildren, Chase Carter and wife, Jessie of Burkburnett, Texas, Dustin Carter and wife, Laura of Iowa Park, Texas, Kirsten Carter and husband, Daniel Asch of Miami, Florida, Cameron Potts and wife, Brooke of Euless, Texas and Kyle Carter and wife, Shelby of Burleson, Texas; also four step-grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Funeral services for Carol will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett, Texas with her grandson, Cameron Potts, vocalist. Joe Coombes of First Baptist Church of Burkburnett, Texas, Carol’s long-time church home will be officiating. Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery.
