Not sure what to say?

Carol was the first person I told about wanting to start a tour boat service on Portage Lakes. She mentored me in business, introducing me to all the right people and groups, and she became a true friend over the years. I think about her with every milestone Portage Lakes Cruises crosses, and wish I could talk with her, still.

Dear Family,
Akron and more specifically, Portage Lakes will truly miss Carol. She was a great lady who spear-headed many projects for the betterment of the community. She also worked tirelessly to preserve the historical integrity of Northeast Ohio.
On a personal level, Carol was so much fun to be around as she had a delightful sense of humor. She was full throttle, energizer bunny all the time. I loved being in her wake!
Dearest friend, I will miss you. You have been...

nice, kind person and great friend of the Antique & Classic Boat Show of Portage Lakes. We will miss you.

Carol was a long time friend who hosted so many special events for us women that we enjoyed with family and friends. She was always so gracious and kind and never to be forgotten. We will miss you. God bless you and your family. Marge Falkenstein & Family

My mom Jean Bender worked together on many projects. Both were power houses in the community, sadly both are now gone. Portagelakes has always been a better place because of Carol.
Prayers to all who loved her.

Carol brought happiness to many people. She will be missed.

Carol was my mentor and my friend. She was the most 'in-the-know' local we had in Portage Lakes. I miss her and will remember her fondly.

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
