Carol Faingold Obituary
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Carol Faingold, 72, of Springfield, passed away at 12:05 a.m., Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born in Chicago on Jan. 7, 1944, the daughter of Emanuel and Sylvia (Waller) Baskin.
Her parents preceded her in death.
She married Carl Faingold in Chicago on June 21, 1964.
Carol is survived by her husband, Carl, a professor at SIU School of Medicine; children: Scott (companion, Sarah Mueth) Faingold of Springfield, Rob (wife, Trisha) Faingold of Loveland, OH, and Chuck Faingold of Jerusalem, Israel; four grandchildren: Noah Faingold of Madison, WI, Samantha and Ryan Faingold of Loveland, OH, and Emanuel Faingold of Jerusalem, Israel; sister, Rhonda (husband, Rusty) Cohen of Highland Park, IL; three nephews: Jeff (wife, Courtney) Cohen of Deerfield, IL, Lee (wife, Jessica) Cohen and Gary (wife, Leslie) Cohen, both of Highland Park, IL; godson, David Kaye of Springfield, IL; her dear companion, Sparky, the family dog; and several other nieces and nephews.
A graduate of the University of Illinois at Springfield, Carol was the founder and teacher of the Springfield Jewish Nursery School. She later retired as an executive secretary at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield.
She was a member of Temple Israel, Hadassah, the Springfield Jewish Federation and the Temple Sisterhood.
VISITATION AND FUNERAL CEREMONY: The family will greet friends at Temple Israel on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, from 10 a.m. until time of the service at 11 a.m. Rabbi Barry Marks will officiate.
Additional services will be in Buffalo Grove, IL, with burial then in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
Those who wish may direct memorial contributions to: Temple Israel.

Mrs. Faingold was a wonderful person and will always hold a cherished spot in my heart. When we were kids Mrs. Faingold was the den mother for the neighborhoods cub scouts. She always treated us as if we were one of her own kids. I have great memories of all the fun activities only a great mom could provide. She touched the hearts of all of us and will always be remembered fondly.

Having a difficult time finding the right words and realize that I was not ready to say good- bye, but little by little I begin to remember not just that you died but that you lived ,and that your life gave me memories too beautiful to forget.I will cherish the memories of the times we spent together.
