July 2, 1935 - October 20, 2020 I am Carol, and yes, I died on the date listed above - the result of a sudden cancer that surprised me several months ago. I want to acknowledge the people I have especially loved over my 85+ years. And at the same time to state I have truly had a truly happy and...

Dear Carol,
Your obituary is as unique and wonderful as we will always remember you to be. It's so "YOU" to have focused on all of us instead of presenting a litany of your many fine accomplishments throughout your long life. We enjoyed the many (but never enough) weekends we were privileged to spend with you and Peter as next door neighbors in Palm Springs. Simply put, you lit up the room with the sparkle in your eyes every time we were together. Your laughter was freely given -...

I met her briefly when Peter and I were room-mates. I was asked to mentor one of her children, for what I no longer remember. I am glad to read that they had a wonderful life together. Peter, please get in touch!

The number of people I’ve met my life who were genuinely nice all the time, who were always happy for your successes and sad about your setbacks, can be counted on my fingers. Maybe on one hand. Carol Greenfield, my mother in law for the past 43 years, was one of those people. Everyone who knew her is sad. She was 85 and was blessed with a wonderful life, family and friends that she totally deserved. I will miss her. So will everyone else.

Carol and I met over 20 years ago as we trained in the Santa Monica Mountains for the Avon 3 Day Walk. She was one of the most interesting among a group of energetic, intelligent, active women. Carol shared her tales of travel, family, and life with me. Truly an inspiration. May her family be blessed with the love and memories that will live on through them for generations to come.

Carol was my grandmother-in-law. I would always tell my wife that she was the best grandma in the world, though I had two of my own. Carol had a natural light and great character. She was caring, generous, and always positive. Often, when I would see Carol, she would tell me how beautiful I am and how lucky she is to have me as a grandson-in-law, and how my children make her so happy. Truth is, it was all of us who were so lucky to have Carol. She was the one who was so beautiful.

Carol was my walking friend whom I met in a book club and we quickly became sisterly. She will be with me and alive in my memory of sweet times as long as I live.

Carol was my “older” cousin. I loved her deeply. I remember our family vacations in Crestline and Lake Gregory when we were children. I’m glad she is out of her misery. May our wonderful memories help all of us get through this time.
