Not sure what to say?

I will ALWAYS remember what a BEAUTIFUL Lady she was! She was a wonderful Baton teacher who only hired the best : DonJuan Jones, who was my actual instructor. I will ALWAYS carry her in my !

Carol was a wonderful choreographer. She was so patient when teaching us our routines for the May Fiestas at Lincoln High School. She made it fun,was a perfectionist and made the Fiestas something to proud of,along with the direction of our choir of Ruth Cogan.I am sure she dint realize how many lives she affected in a positive way, I and many others are forever grateful. For these memories she helped in our LHs alumnae programs also under direction of John Hayward. She sure had stamina!Prayers...

I was a baton student of Ms. Koontz in the mid to late 50's. I was one of her team that represented Canton in the Miss America parade in Wooster in 1958 when Marilyn Van Derbur was Miss America. I remember vividly Ms. Koontz getting us ready for that parade, making sure our "blue" uniforms were just perfect and our "white" marching boots were polished. She wanted everything to be just so, but she always had the patience and compassion to work with us for as long as it took.

I was a 1979 graduate of Hoover High School. I was also a majorette and Carol was our instructor. I have many many fond memories of her incredible talent, leadership, and compassion. She was loved and adored by so many. I have reached out to my fellow majorettes and we have been reminiscing our baton twirling days with Carol. I will be keeping Carol's family in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincere condolences to Carol's family. I remember her piano playing very well, she was a big part of all Hoover choir concerts. She was a kind and lovely person.

To your family may you rest in peace Carol ! You kept our family busy going to 25 parades a summer for 8 years ! Our Ashley loved marching for you. She learned much more than marching as you taught a belief in God was essential as well as being committed to the group ! Being loyal and trustworthy as well ! Thanks again Carol !You will be missed by all Sally Wilson

Following my granddaughter Christine to every festival and parade as she marched with Carol Koontz filled many a summer day for years. But Christine learned discipline, loyalty, integrity, and pride of accomplishment from Carol. She also felt the love Carol imparted to her troop every time Carol said "at ease". I'm sure the angels are now marching to Carol's well known drum beat. To her family, rest in the thought that she is reaping her just reward. Love you Carol.

RIP Carol! I took baton from her many, many years ago and marched in numerous parades. I always remember her checking our white tennis shoes before we marched!

May God richly bless all of you with his Divine love and comfort during this time. I very much enjoyed working with Carol throughout our years with Cadet-Ettes
