Not sure what to say?

On Sunday January 22 in San Francisco there will be a celebration of Carol and her wonderful life for family and friends If you would like details, please contact Carol's sister Terry Vismantas at [email protected]. Thank you.

We have worked closely with Carol in the past two years on her home. To me, she is a role model for contemporary women - educated, confident, intelligent and kind. Carol was alway "on top of things", even took time to correct my email (grammar)! Our condolences to her family and friends. A candle is lit for you, Carol.

I feel very lucky to have been included at the bridge table with Carol. I will never play a card out of turn without thinking of her. I am sending love from my most special heart place to you, Esther, and to Howard and Terry. Art and I look forward to seeing you soon. Until then, with big hugs, our warmest thoughts over the internet will have to do.

I met Carol almost 25 years ago when we were work colleagues at UCSF. Over the years she became a dear friend. We shared a love of sports and I remember us going to go to a Giants game in Candlestick Park bundled up and drinking hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps to keep warm. I could always depend on Carol for good conversation and humor. Carol's spirit lives in my heart.

I lived next door to Carol for 21 years and also, while working at UCSF, so I knew her through both channels. We shared many friendly over-the-fence greetings and neighborhood chats through those years. She will be missed by many people!

I first met carol in San Francisco when we were roommates. She also cohosted my wedding reception. She was a wonderful person.

Deeply saddened by Carol's loss, I want to express how much I valued our longtime friendship. We were confirmed together at Temple B'nai Israel, Class of l960. She had class, style, smarts, personality and enviable writing skills. The story she wrote about our parent's poker club published in the SL Trib and reprinted in Eileen Stone's “A Homeland in the West” was the best. She captured the heart and soul of the club because it came straight from her heart and soul. And she had plenty of...

Carol has been a friend of mine since East High School. We both ended up in SF, were roommates for a year in 1967/8, and good friends ever since then. I will miss her ready smile, good humor, intelligence and heart as big as the world. My heartfelt sympathies go out to you, her family and to all of her many friends. We will all miss her.

I met Carol at UCSF in 1987--we were co-workers first, and friends for 24 years. We shared noon time walks, dinners, and good conversations. I'll never forget her 50th birthday party ("I wonder how old Carol is.") She was always chiding me for not being more Jewish! I miss her already. My condolences to her family--you meant so much to her. She was such a proud auntie, and such a supportive friend.
