Not sure what to say?

When I was 12, Lou took me to the Crow's nest one afternoon for a "talk." She told me that I was a leader and that people would follow me no matter which direction I went. She said that it's more fun sometimes to be a negative leader and more difficult to be a positive one. She told me she expected me to make the right choice. Over the years, in my work with young people and particularly as a judge, I have given that speech over and over again. She was one of the most influencial people in my...

It seemed as though Lou would be around forever. In a way, she will be. She lives in my heart and I feel forever blessed to have had Lou as my TR Mama. She was such a special lady...the true spirit of Nakanawa.

I met Lou in 1974, my first summer at Nakanawa. She always remembered me, and years later she knew my daughter. What a blessing to have known such a kind, caring lady. She will be missed but leaves a legacy for hundreds of campers and counselors. We should all strive to model Lou's unselfish ways. Sincere sympathy from my daughter, Laura, and me.

I was so sorry to hear of Lou's passing. She had such grace and shared herself selflessly with those of us lucky enough to know her at camp -- and we are so much the better for it. She is and will be missed.

Lou truly was a remarkable woman. I don't believe I have ever encountered a woman with such zest, vitality, and love. She definitely enriched my summers at Camp Nakanawa. We'll miss you, Lou!

Lou was a rare lady, who taught us that people are only as good as you inspire and enable them to be. It made us better counselors, to be sure - but to her greater credit, it made us better people. Some of us required a little extra prodding. Thanks, Lou.

What is inspirational to me is that Lou touched the lives of some many throughout the years. She was truly a legend to us all. My childhood memories are filled with the summers at Nakanawa and Lou leading the pack. We love you TR Mama!!!

I was on the tennis staff(for two years 71-72)when Lou was the head of tennis at Camp Nakanawa. I've known Lou since the 1960's. I was proud to call her my friend. She gave of herself to others and was loved by many. I will miss her always.

Lou was an amazingly spirited and insightful person who never failed to bring humor and laughter to those around her. Camp Nakanawa will dearly miss her. Bowman Yeoman Archer!
