Carol Ann Masciantonio, 85, of Jeannette, passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Carol was born Dec. 25, 1934, in Jeannette, daughter of the late Thomas C. Bold and Anna Kubicek Bold. She was a graduate of Jeannette High School, and as a young woman, worked in her family business, Bold's Dairy Bar, in Jeannette, and the American Window Glass Co. She also worked at Masciantonio's Market for years until it closed in 1979. In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Carmen Masciantonio; and her brothers, Thomas and Ronald. Carol was a devout Catholic and longtime dedicated member of Ascension Church in Jeannette and its women's choir. She loved her family, and her wonderful friends and neighbors. She enjoyed cooking healthy foods, home projects, church activities, playing the organ and singing, praying and watching EWTN. Carol had a persistent cheerful and blessed outlook to everyday life: all was a gift from God. Any obstacle was always an opportunity, for which she could provide a creative solution with things already on hand. She appreciated simple pleasures such as a sunny day, a healthy meal, a game of Scrabble. Most of all, she relished news about the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all unfolding in unique and special ways. She felt so fortunate to be able to live in her house until God called her to her ultimate home. Carol is survived by her children, Angela and son-in-law, Larry Partyka, of Andover, Mass., Carmella and son-in-law, Mike Jochmann, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Carmen and daughter-in-law, Lauraine Masciantonio, of Center Valley, Pa.; grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy and Gregory Partyka, Taira, Mikelle and Nick Masciantonio, Greta (Jochmann) McKown and husband, Carson McKown and Neal Jochmann; great-grandchildren, Donovan, Damian and Duncan McKown; sister-in-law, Patty Bold, of Jeannette; many nieces and nephews; and her "guardian angels," Lucy and Clyde Bittner. She will be greatly missed by all. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at Ascension Church, 615 Division St., Jeannette. The Mass will be live-streamed at https://vimeo.com/event/556147. We respectfully request your adherence to all medical guidelines, including wearing a mask and social distancing. Burial will be private in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC. in Jeannette. A celebration of Carol's life will be scheduled at a date and time to be announced after health restrictions are lifted. Memorial contributions can be made to Ascension Church Memorial Fund, 615 Division St., Jeannette, PA 15644, or EWTN, 5817 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, AL 35210.

Not sure what to say?

My deepest condolences to your family on losing your mother. Mrs. Masciantonio was such a kind woman. She attended my fathers funeral and spoke to me about her memories of my father when she had first entered the Italian family. I was so touched by seeing and talking with her that day. I think often of all the Mothers I knew in Jeannette, they were all very special to me in my childhood.
