Not sure what to say?

I still remember the first day (although I don't remember the year... around 1998) I met Carol. She was a passenger on the bus from Anchorage to Fairbanks. From that day on, she became a close friend of our family. She would always invite me over for a homemade dinner - (one time, she made me fiddlehead ferns harvested from near Talkeetna because I had never tried them) or taking me out to dinner countless times - when I was overnighting in Anchorage. Over the years she gifted to me...

We will always remember Carol for her dignity, honesty, and sense of humor and hold her as a model of kindness and generosity. Her stories will live on with us as will her shining spirit. We are grateful we were friends and will always honor her memory.

I was so sorry to read of Carol's death. She was a dear friend to Norman and to me. My love goes out to her family. She will be missed. She was a great Alaskan.

I miss you more every day, Mom, and the holidays this year are going to feel so empty without you...love you

I met Carol when I worked for Denali N.P.& P. ages ago. Over the years, we would meet for coffee or lunch in Anchorage. Carol was so interesting to listen to. Her life story would have made a fascinating book. One thing, in spite of the hardships that sometimes interrupted, she was always positive. Finally, Carol, wherever you are, I know your proofreading antenna are buzzing. Sincerely, Theresa
