Roop Carol Ann Roop ( nee Connell) on Feb. 22, 2014, age 66, of Upper Chichester. Carol passed away suddenly at Crozer Chester Medical Center with her family at her side on Saturday, February 22. Carol was predeceased by her parents James Connell and Anna Marie Aurillo Connell."Miss Carol" as she was known by her adoring fans was born in Darby, PA. She married the love of her life Edward "Pud" Roop in 1967 and welcomed their first daughter, Gina, in 1969 and their second Carol Ann in 1972. Carol initially was the quintessential stay at home mom; she was very active with St. Joseph of Aston CYO for many years. Carol then worked in Center City at The Philadelphia Set Salon for several years. Her big break came in 1986 when she became the teacher's aide and cook at Neumann University's Child Development Center. "Miss Carol" shot to stardom making healthy lunches and snacks for the many preschoolers and teachers to follow. Her claim to fame over the last 28 years was her perfect hot dogs, as well as her cheerful, warm and fuzzy disposition. To this day children from her early years would still stop and visit her. They never left without a hug. Some even have their own children under her care. Carol was an avid Philadelphia Phan. The Eagles were her passion, and she could always be found rooting them on every Sunday in her favorite seat. Carol recently developed an addiction to Words with Friends, but wouldn't hesitate to play a quick game of Uno with her grandchildren before work. Carol or Mom-Mom adored her 6 grandchildren. Mom-Mom's kitchen was always open, as she catered to everyone's individual tastes. She enjoyed attending their sporting events and could easily be heard cheering them on boisterously from the stands. Carol loved to vacation at the Jersey shore with her family. She even recently became a seasoned flyer visiting her daughter and family in Texas. Mostly, Carol loved being a wife and sister. She often pursued retail therapy with her partner in crime, her sister Rita, and enjoying quiet dinners out with her "Puddy." Carol will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends as well.
