Carol Lynn Smith

I taught with Carol at Altara Elementary School for 3 three years. She was a light to my days and could always bring a smile to my face. She helped me out of her abundant wealth of ideas for teaching Social Studies one of those years. Perhaps my one of most precious memories of Carol was later when I lived in Gold Beach, OR. What a privilege it has been to have known Carol. She is caring, compassionate, fun-loving and one who enjoyed life. She added a great dimension at Sprucewood Elementary. She loved her students and those she worked with. Her positive attitude made a positive difference. I met Carol during a difficult period and her very presence inspired and uplifted me. I only knew her for a short time, but she changed my life and my heart. I will always love her and cherish the memories. I look forward to a time when I can drink from that well again!

Carol seemed to brighten every path she came across. She was a good friend--always a smiles. I am forever grateful that our paths crossed, not only for the gift of her friendship, but of her daughter, Stacey's.
I was amazed at Carol's strength, courage, faith, and sense of humor as she fought her battle with cancer. We love you Carol and can't wait to see you again.

Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. How fortunate we were to have had Carol in our lives. She was a true friend. My, how she will be missed.

From the day Carol came to Sprucewood Elementary it was a brighter place. It is seldom we meet people that have such a sweet spirit and a never ending smile like Carol had. She had a sense about her that could calm the people around her without them even realizing it. I am so glad we were able to meet each other.
