A Brief Remembrance of Carol Ann Veal Near the Anniversary of Her Death

The pain of Carol no longer being with me in a tangible physical way can at times still be very intense, that is, if I dwell on it too long. Fortunately, I don't dwell on it as often as I did in the early months after her death. In conversations, I don't avoid mentioning her or referring to her or telling what 'we' did or didn't do in one situation or another. I don't contrive opportunities to mention her,...

I will truely miss Carol at SWUUSI week after next. I treasure the time we had with Carol and Lee in San Miguel and will always think of her when I wear my Carol earrings. Peace to you, Lee, and your son....Melanie

Carol's courage inspired many of us. I, too, cherish my items of Carol's jewelry. SWUUSI will not be the same without her. She enriched lives everywhere she went.

When I remember Carol, all I can think of is her beautiful smile and contagious laugh. She and I would work Saturdays together at Bally Bead and we would laugh all the time. I also remember how she loved going to the movies and we would share critiques of the lastest movies. I know she is smiling her beautiful smile and at peace now - I love you Carol. God's blessings.

Carol was a beautiful, creative, fun-filled woman. I enjoyed seeing her at GA and SWUUSI, and am blessed to have many lovely pieces of "Carol" jewelry.

My dear big brother, I am so sorry that you have lost the love of your life and your best friend. Carol was such a sweet person and I will always remember her quiet disposition....her looks were truly worth a thousand words! I am always here for you and I love you unconditionally. Your little sis.

Oh Lee, I just heard and am so sad that the world has lost such a loving and talented woman. What a joy it was to spend time with Carol at the basket making classes at SWUUSI. Her skill and attention to detail permeated everything she touched. How fortunate you two were to share in each others lives, thanks for sharing Carol with us all. Many hugs and warm thoughts to you. Connie and Austin

Dear Lee - We are so sorry for your loss. I've been wearing my favorite "Carol" earrings ever since I heard. I remember taking Connie's basket weaving workshop with Carol at SWUUSI one year and how Carol's talent and speed put us all to shame! I will look forward to your smile and a hug whenever we see each other again, mi amigo.

My Dear Lee, your life was a blessing to Carol. Your life with Carol was a blessing to all of us who bore witness to the joy and peace you and she projected. As much as she meant to you, the two of you together was a shining beacon that encouraged me (and likely those like me) who have never had what you and Carol had. It isn't envy; rather, it was celebration that your relationship was good. That is joy-making. I loved you, love you, and always will love you.

Your always-sister,
