Carol Weigelt

Carol Weigelt, 81, O'Fallon, Mo., formerly of Fessenden, died Nov. 26, 2012, in a Wentzville, Mo., hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at First Lutheran Church, Fessenden.

Carol Bahr was born Aug. 26, 1931, at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, to Herman and Isabel Bahr. She attended a one-room school for her first eight years and was a graduate of Glen Ullin High School in 1949. She received a bachelor of science degree from North Dakota Agricultural College, now North Dakota State University, in 1953.

She taught in the high school at Bowman for one year then at Fessenden High School for 2½ years. She married Bob Weigelt on Oct. 19, 1955. Bob passed away April 4, 2000. Carol was very proud of her two children, Bob H. (Laurel) Weigelt, Minot, and Kay Jolly, Defiance, Mo. Her two granddaughters, Alyssa Sue Jolly and Kaci Carol Jolly, were especially important to their grandmother.

Carol had several passions. As a young girl she was her Dad's "right hand man," chasing cattle on horseback and helping at round-up time. She always said she'd rather drive grain truck for Bob than do housework. She also loved to travel and over the years visited all 50 states and all Canadian provinces. Carol was also an avid sports fan, either watching on TV, listening to on the radio or attending many football, basketball, baseball and track events - whatever the season!

Other survivors include a sister, Elaine Whitley, Newcastle, Wyo.; a brother, Dennis (Rose) Bahr, Amidon; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Betty Weigelt, Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; and three nieces and four nephews.
