Carole Akin

Carole was my neighbor and friend. I could not have asked for a better neighbor or friend. She will be missed.

Carole was a bright light of smiles and warm sentiments! A gem beauty! A woman of strength and conviction! I loved her fond memories of life in France and her hilarious stories of romance in the airline industry! My heart is broken to hear of her loss. Although we knew Carole well in the AAUW Friday lunch group, she was a devoted member of Madison County Democratic Women. I remember Carole from our MCD (Madison County Democrats) meetings. I had relocated to Huntsville in 2012 after retirement. As a new member of MCD, Carole made me feel welcome, she was social, open and amiable.

I am so saddened to see this. Carole was a very special friend and I'm so sorry we lost touch. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding in 1987. We met when I worked at CSC and she worked at Chrysler and became instant friends. We both lived downtown and we became very close. She was a beautiful person. I will keep her family in my prayers.
