Not sure what to say?

Words...fail. I cannot imagine the world without Carole in it.

Dr. Hubbard, was my Mentor. My inspiration, my Hero...she was my Art Teacher at Booker T. Washington High School 1986 through 1989. She purposefully stayed there, to continue to teach me and other students that had formed a close friendship with her, before moving on to head up the Art Dept at Newport News schools. She even got a darkroom built for the Photography class she started. We were with her when she got her...

Dear Leroy and family,
I am so sorry for your great loss. I remember being interviewed by Carole in 94' when I had just moved here and so much needed a job. If it were not for her confidence in me, I might not have stayed in Virginia. I was always struck by Carole's being very classic yet equally down to earth all at the same time. I hope you will be comforted by your memories and I believe she is in a gentle and very loving place.

Dear Leroy,

Like so many who have written, I was shocked and saddened to hear that Carole had died. I am so used to seeing you both at VAEA conferences that it will be such a void in future years. I think back to when we all met while taking graduate classes back in the 70's, and having you and Carole over to my apartment in Williamsburg for dinner. And then years later while visiting my native Newport News, running into you both while you were out biking. Carole was such a...

My deepest sympathies to Leroy and Carole's family. Carole was a wonderful friend and dedicated advocate for the arts. I met Carole when she assumed the Art Supervisor's position for Newport News City Schools. I always found her leadership style to be collaborative and caring. As an art teacher, my students and I benefited from her dedicated and very personal attention to the needs of the art classroom. Beyond that, Carole was a reliable friend who was also great fun and, at the same time, an...

Penn State Club of Hampton Roads

I am so shocked and saddened to hear that Carole has passed away. My condolences to Leroy and her girls. I was a colleague during the 70s and she was my art supervisor in the 90s. Best of all she was a dear art friend. The world has lost a special advocate for the arts. She will be missed.

Doug & Nicole,
I know that you will miss your Mom greatly, but it is SO exciting that she is in the presence of the LORD where there is fullness of joy. What an awesome thought that she's with Adam & Eve, David, Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, the Apostle Paul, Peter, James and John, all the rest of the wonderful saints (including my Dad) and most of all JESUS.

I have been praying for you and our family prayed for you all this afternoon that His Spirit will comfort you in this...

This was a real shock and a great loss to all who knew Carole (Dr. Hubbard) in the NNPS and her art community. It is hard to say how many lives she touched through her long career as an art educator, supervisor and lover of the arts. Carole was truly a beautiful person inside and out and no one can really measure all of the accomplishments she succeeded on this earth.

My heartfelt sympathy and prayers goes to her family which shared her with all of us. We are so sadden by this...

Dear Leroy and family,
I was so sorry to read of Carole's passing. I enjoyed meeting and traveling with both of you on our trip to England summer before last. Carole was a lovely and gifted lady and I am richer for having met her. I know she will be greatly missed, but I can also that you all have many loving memories to cherish. My thoughts and prayers are with you all in the coming days as you transition through this difficult time.

Grace and peace,
