Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

MANSFIELD, Carole J. – Of Burton, age 78, died Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.


Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.


Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ryder Mansfield.


Visitation 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.


Carole was born on April 7, 1941 in Kanawha, West Virginia, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (McNamee) Cummings.


On May 17, 1958 she married Monte Mansfield in Flint.


Carole was a huge NASCAR fan.


Surviving are children, Gregory Mansfield,


Monica Mansfield-Steelman and nd


Veronica Mansfield-Porter, all of Burton;


grandchildren, Crystal, DeeDee, David, Monte, Casey, LaShanda and Ty;


many loving great-grandchildren;


2 sisters, Marion Brown of Florida, Pamela and husband Tim Hawthorne of Florida;


many loving nieces and nephews.


A special thanks to Vickie, Marion, Maria, Cindy, Bob, Tonia an Steve.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Monte; grandchildren, Nicole and Candace; brothers, Bill, Joe and Roy.

Carol was amazing, she loved her family dearly, was a great hostess all the time, a creative side, a great sense of humor....and an avid NASCAR fan, A true friend... Bob & I spent a lot of time with Monte & Carole... bonfires, NASCAR race parties, a few times out on the town.... I will remember her sweet smile & disposition... and great memories.. My thoughts and prayers to her family and all who loved her.. Prayers & God Bless, may she RIP..
