Carole was an incredible woman, but more importantly she was an amazing mentor to me. She helped me to discover my love for research and science. She was my best champion. i worked with Carole for all my years with the Endocrine Society and loved her warmth and inquisitiveness and her leadership of the Society and Women in Endocrinology. A scientific pioneer, certainly, and a wonderful person as well. I will miss her.
