Carole was my mom’s friend from when they were teenagers. I have known Carole all my life and she was a wonderful woman. I agree with her son Nicky that she was one of the strongest people I have ever met. She defeated multiple bouts of cancer and she never complained about her illnesses. Her life was not defined by her illnesses either. I spent all my childhood and young adult life holidays with Carole and her family as well as many other occasions.
