Not sure what to say?

She was the most memorable person in my life.

She was an amazing grandmother an friend to me.

Mrs. Close was my Freshman English teacher at Foothill High. She was always graceful and helpful. She let us express ourselves and always had a smile on her face. I think of her often and my sympathies go to her family that she talked about often and loved so much.

She was a wonderful friend, a fantastic teacher, a beautiful mother, and a beloved grandmother to me.

Caroline was a frequent customer at Global Gifts, a non-profit gift store in downtown Bakersfield for many years. She always wanted to learn the background of the handcrafted ethnic items at the store. I valued the interesting conversations we had. Later, I saw her even more at political meetings. Quite a lady, with many interests and talents! My sympathy and tender thoughts to her family.

Mrs Close... one of the most nicest and kindness souls that taught at FHS during my years there. A woman who will be greatly remembered both at FHS and at the college.

We older teachers still left at Foothill remember Caroline as a wonderful teacher and someone who cared about her students. Sincere condolences.

I met Caroline Close through the Bakerfield League of Women Voters and always enjoyed her keen intellect and sharp wit. I cherish my fond memories of our friendship, and will miss her dearly.

Caroline was my treasured next-door neighbor for 33 years. She was a good friend who especially helped me during my husband's illness and after his death. I am ever thankful for her spirit, friendship and kindness. Peace be with her family.

As an English teacher in the Kern High School District, I knew Caroline as a gifted teacher, mentor to new English teachers, and thoughtful critic of literature and student writing. Everyone I know respected Caroline for every possible reason. I personally will miss her sitting in front of me at church for the past few months.
