Not sure what to say?

God, grant me the serenity to accept the furniture I already own, the courage to change my decor without breaking the bank, and the wisdom to stay away from Crate & Barrel. - Caroline Knapp, Nesting Fever, Boston Phoenix May 1994

Remembering with amazement and profound respect for Caroline Knapp, a gifted writer whose ground breaking first-person account of her decades long battle with alcohol changed the way people view alcoholism and the alcoholic. Caroline, nothing you wrote about your experience was earth shattering; it was the way you told your story and bore witness to your fellow companions along the way. It was your brutal honesty, the sharp scalpel as you cut away layers of personal and family history,...

Remembering Caroline Knapp, a favorite writer. Thank you for sharing yourself with us.

Pack of Two is amazing in the way it makes me laugh and gives great solace. What a writer you were, Caroline, and what a loss for us all that you died too soon. I had several "Lucilles" of my own and found the greatest joy with them, joy I never had with all the humans in my life. An annual reminder to pay respect to a great writer. Will happily tuck a paperback copy of The Merry Recluse into my bag to read on the bus this week. Thank you Caroline, and thanks also to the anonymous donor who maintains this memorial site. Best wishes to Caroline's family.

Like many, I'm reading "Drinking: A Love Story." I have never felt more understood in my life. She really has a way with words. I'm so saddened to read her life was cut short.

I just heard about Drinking, A Love Story, I have so many books about alcohol... all kinds of reading materials. .I come from a long line of alcoholism..Caroline has a way of expressing so many things I want to say... and feel in my own recovery.. thank you all these years later, bless you for this wonderful book .. still helping..

I just finished "Drinking - A Love Story" which has helped me with my own issues with alcohol as well as aid me in dealing with my wife's drinking. I am so grateful to you for writing it.
