So sorry we missed the visitation and funeral but did not see the notice in time. We are so sorry - I remember all the good times of the Armistead gatherings on Christmas Eve that our families enjoyed while we were growing up. Much love, Sandra, Chris, and Gary

Please accept my sincere condolences.

My mother, Anne Irby Comer, was a lifelong friend of Carolyn and her husband, Ben. She often spoke of the fun that they enjoyed when they were young. They had an inside joke about a beaded purse that they would re-gift to each other, like a hot potato. One last time, shortly before her death in 2009, my mother sent the purse to Carolyn . I hope that Carolyn, Anne and Ben will all meet again on the Elysian Fields.

Although all the Stipe and Paschal family members of Mrs. Armistead's generation have gone on ahead of her, she is still remembered with fondness. I know that she was welcomed home by an honor guard from the Paty Class!

Aunt Carolyn was a kind, loving woman! I'll always cherish the memories of summer at her home playing with cousins Ben and Doug. She took great care of us even though four young boys were undoubtedly driving her crazy. She was always smiling and had a great sense of humor. May she rest in peace in her heavenly home with Ben.
