Our hearts go out to Richard and the children. Although we met Carolyn only once in Britain and careers put many miles between us, Richard remained a close friend from our university days and we followed the growth of his family through our Christmas exchange. We are certain Carolyn will be missed.

Carolyn loved you all - R., S., F., and A.- so much, but she also gave you the gift of independence (not an easy task for mothers) and rejoiced in the uniqueness of each of you.
I miss her, but find some small comfort in knowing that part of her will always be in all of us that knew and loved her.
