Not sure what to say?

My heart was saddened at the thought that Carolynn is gone. She was one of the first people that welcomed me to the Berea Campus. I was a shy freshman, always calling my mother to come and get me. (smile). But Carolyn in her warm and friendly way encouraged me to get involved and to meeet people. She encouraged me to drown myself in what I love to do, to sing. Because of her I joined the Black ensemble and the Black Student Union. She was always someone I looked up to and loved a great deal....

I’m sitting here with wonderful thoughts of Carolyn...whom I met at Berea College in Eastern Kentucky. We both studied Theatre at Berea and I was privileged to work closely with her on her one-woman play Phenomenal Woman. She was also my ‘volunteer’ peer counselor at Berea, a mentor and friend. We became Delta Sigma Theta Sorors! I remember when I told Carolyn that I'd become a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated: I playfully exclaimed, "Carolyn! Carolyn! I'm a Delta now and my...

Cee-Cee and I attended Berea College and graduated together. Everything cultural and black, we were in together: BSU, Black Ensemble, BSU Pageant, hanging out at Rosa and Cleo's, Betty and David's. I was directed by her in scenes of plays that she did for her independent theater major. I think independent describes her well. I enjoyed running into her during homecomings at Berea. I last communicated with her when she was part of coordinating alumni support for one of our schoolmates who died...

My deepest sympathy on the passing of Carolyn. I met Carolyn through my niece and was so impressed with her wonderful spirit, kindness and strength. May god bless you at this time and always.
Barbara Anders & Family

My condolences to the Cozart and Coleman families. Carolyn was the very first friend I made when I moved to the Atlanta area over 11 years ago and I will definitely miss her. Even though my heart wanted to be selfish and hold on to her, my Lord reminded me that we are not our own but instead his therefore I rejoice knowing she is with Him. I love you Carolyn and I still say that I want to be like you when I grow up. (smile)

My heart and condolences go out to the Coleman & Cozart family. Carolyn was a close friend that was very dear to my heart and I will truly miss her.

Love,
Hiala Elridge

My sincere sympathy is extended to Carolyn's family. Carolyn was a true inspiration. I will remember her smile, her strength, and her determination. Although her life was all too brief, she lived it to the fullest. God blessed us with her presence, and for that, we are eternally thankful. She is now in heaven, singing with the angels.
