Carolyn the world misses you. I met Carolyn on the Garden Web website back in 2012. I was a novice back then and she responded to one of my questions on growing heirloom tomatoes. She was very generous with her time and willingly shared her knowledge. I was saddened to read of her passing. I am just fortunate and consider it a blessing that I was able to connect with her on our journey through life. She will always be in my heart.

I met Carolyn through one of the web based gardening forums 15 or so years ago. Her passing is a huge loss. Condolences to her family.

Carolyn, I am so sad you have left us. Seems kind of unfair that almost as soon as you retired, illness dogged your life. I have all kinds of good memories of you. Like the time we put Italian run cake, left over from a school party, in your lab refrigerator and finished it at 7am the next morning. You told me not to ask what else was in the refrigerator. Or our eighty cent eggs we enjoyed in the Camelot room for an entire semester. Or our morning breakfasts in the Camelot Room where our...

To the family, you have my sincere condolences. When someone falls asleep in death (Ecclesiastes 9: 5,10) the memories we have of them become our most precious treasure. May those memories comfort you as well as Gods promise at John 6:40.
My deepest sympathy Evelina Z

Carolyn will be greatly missed among the tomato growing community. She was a wealth of knowledge and generously gave her time and expertise on many forums over the years to help others learn about the thousands of heirloom tomatoes out in this world . She was a seed saver and collector whom was more than happy to share and send you seeds of a rare variety to try. One of my favorite heirloom tomatoes started out as a gift of seeds from Carolyn. I also save the seeds and in return, share the...

I met Dr. Carolyn on the AOL gardening boards when the internet was much younger. Her area of expertise was heirloom tomatoes and I learned so much from her. Because of her I grow them to this day. She was a delightful friend and a treasure trove of useful knowledge and advise. She is irreplaceable and will be sorely missed by the countless people she influenced the world over.
