Carolyn Grace McCarthy

Spent many hours with Carolyn at our Sauvie Island home. As an accomplished horse woman all of her life, she was very helpful to me when I started riding in my forties. Carolyn and Joe joined me and my husband, Joe, on boat trips on the Columbia and around the island. It saddens us to know that she and Joe passed away too soon. Our thoughts, prayers and love are with their children Tom and Kerry.

Miss Grace was my eighth grade social studies teacher at Renne Junior High in Newberg for the 1966-67 school year. Gosh 50 years ago wow! So long ago they hadn't yet invented middle schools. I have a hard time remembering most of my teachers from that era, but not her. She was wonderful: so full of energy and enthusiasm every day, and I was her last class. How many teachers can you say that about?

To Carolyn's family
I was Carolyn's (and Steve/Tom) next door neighbor during our growing up days. I saw her at reunions and she and Joe came to our wedding. She will be missed. My prayers are with the family.
