Carolyn Meyers Obituary

ODESSA - Carolyn Wolfe Meyers, 77, of Odessa, Texas passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 .

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home Chapel on Friday 10, 2023 at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hubbard Kelly.

Carolyn was born July 20, 1945 in Ropesville, Texas to Henry William Wolfe and Vivian Inez Gordon Wolfe.

She was a faithful member of Highland United Methodist Church in Odessa, Texas since 2001, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Bob Hamilton Sunday School Class. Carolyn had a strong, unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She shared this faith by sharing Gods love through teaching, helping others and her beautiful mesmerizing voice.

She was a proud and active member of the Laureate Alpha PSI Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, for close to 50 years, with a perfect attendance for each of those years. She held every office, except treasurer, and received every award offered by the sorority during this time. Carolyn was Chapter Sweetheart twice, Woman of the Year, Chairman of First Lady Tea, and President of Beta Sigma Phi City Council, as well as Chairman of the International Area Convention.

She was a member of the Medical Center Auxiliary, Women of the Moose Auxiliary, and Permian Basin Dance Club. She was also President of the Parent Teacher Association, City Council President of PTA for two years, also Volunteer of Public Schools for Ector County School District, and a life member of PTA of Burnet Elementary School.

She was raised in Andrews where she graduated in 1963 from Andrews High School. She moved to Odessa in 1975 and joined Immanuel Baptist Church and was active in choir and the Women's Missionary Union.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Marion Wolfe Haile, Nadean Wolfe Shipley, and Maxine Wolfe Kinney.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, Son, Tony Meyers and wife, Kim of Chicago, Illinois, Daughter, Lisa Meyers and Sandi James, of Odessa, Brother, Larry Wolfe and Sisters, Janice Wolfe Brown, and Shirley Wolfe McWilliams, and Sister Friend, Sheila Black, Grandchildren, Zachary Meyers, Mindy Haynes, Tanner Haynes, Bryne Berry, Bayli Berry, and Morgan Beets, and numerous nieces and nephews.
