I only became familiar with Carolyn over the last several years as her and my own mom's friendship grew. Even so, it was clear how much she was loved by those who knew her and how much that affection was returned. Am very sorry to hear this news (but laughed out loud at the Ohio State fan passage!)

A second mom to us during our summers in Ottawa Beach, Carolyn is such a huge part of my childhood memories. From the time her car pulled up that hill in June until that sad day in August when it departed, Carolyn welcomed the Jirous girls into the cottage as children of her own. You are sadly missed, and thank you for the love and joy you shared each summer.
