TUTTLE, "Carrie" Carolyn Elaine-(nee Nichols) (Reider) of Burton (previously of Prescott) Entered Eternity on July 30, 2005 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Carrie was born April 3, 1948 in Alma, Michigan. She was the third daughter of Darwin "Budd" and Reatha I. Nichols. Carrie was a New Apostolic child of God, active in all aspects of the church including singing with the choir. She was a living testimony of her unwavering faith in our Heavenly Father. She graduated in 1966 from Goodrich High School in Goodrich Michigan, where she was treasurer of her class and Homecoming Queen in her Senior Year. She worked at Genesee Bank (NBD Bank) for 21 years as a teller and later was promoted to Assistant Branch Manager. She studied Finance at the University of Michigan Flint. Carrie loved reading, painting, hunting with her husband of 27 years Ed whom she married on March 31, 1978 in Davison, collecting Flamingo knickknacks (an addiction started by her daughter Traci) and was an avid collector of all "Santa Claus" memorabilia. Carrie enjoyed spending time with her family most of all and was the happiest when surrounded by them. Surviving her in life are husband Edwin "Ed" W. Tuttle, 3 children Tina (Jerry) Link, Jane "Carol" (Steve) Stuval, and Edwin (Keasha) Tuttle Jr. Very special grandchildren Ryan and Brandon Link, L Cpl Donald Tuttle USMC, Kaely and Edwin "Eddie" Tuttle III. Loving Mother Reatha I Nichols and special Mother-in-law Jane Tuttle. Sisters Dr. Darlene (Walter) Drwal, Charlene Pierson, Michelle "Shelly" (Bill) Rettberg-Chuleas, very special nephew Carlin Rettberg. Brothers-in-law Ward (Cheryl) Tuttle, G.V. Randall, Norman Tuttle, Ivan (Melissa) Tuttle Jr. Sisters-in-law Louise (Archie) Bagby, Cheryl (Gene) Lynn. She will be missed especially by her faithful companion Champs Little"Lady". Carrie was preceded in death by her daughter Traci Lynne Reider, Father Darwin "Budd" Nichols, Father-in-law Ivan Tuttle Sr., Brother-in-law Wayne Tuttle Sr., and Sister-in-law Carolyn (Tuttle) Randall. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Carrie's name or to the family. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday August 4, 2005 at 1:00 pm at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Rd., Flint, Michigan. The Family will receive friends beginning Tuesday August 2, 2005 at 5pm-8pm, Wednesday 11am-1pm and 4pm-8pm, and Thursday from 11am until time of service. If you are unable to attend we ask your presence in thought and prayer.
