Not sure what to say?

I was fortunate to be one of Carolyn´s adult students before I left the Roanoke area in 2008. I will always be grateful for her patience and expert guidance, and the recitals she organized for her adult students. She was a wonderful person and an accomplishment pianist.

My sister and I were students of Mrs. Victorine's for a span of at least 13 years. I was certainly not one of her best students, but I particularly loved my last year with her. She was having a great time giving me pieces that were so weird that no one else wanted to play them and I loved that she let her teacher guard down a little and shares some stories from college. I owe a lot to her in my musical growth, but I'd also like to think that I picked up some of her wonderfully dry sense of...

I was fortunate to receive instruction from Carolyn while she was my instructor during my middle school and high school years. I especially enjoyed playing with her as she sat across the room at her other Steinway. Carolyn encouraged me and helped me to prepare for a concert my senior year with one of my classmates. I will always remember these wonderful times with her. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends. Carolyn was very kind and talented.

I took piano lessons from Carolyn for several years after I graduated from the MALS program at Hollins. Though I would never call myself an accomplished pianist - certainly not in Carolyn's league - I so enjoyed her comments and helpful attitude in our sessions. Sincere condolences to her family. Rest in peace, Carolyn.
