CUMMINGS, Carrie Sophia – Of Flushing, age 88, died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at her residence.



 



Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 310 North Cherry Street, Flushing, Father Anthony Brooks officiating. Mrs. Cummings wil1 be at the church after 10 a.m. Wednesday.



 



Visitation 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.



 



Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
 


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cummings family for blankets for the dialysis patients or the Humane Society of Genesee County.


  



Carrie was born in Gaylord, Michigan on July 12, 1928, daughter of the late Ben and Marcella Respecki and was a resident of Flushing.



 



On August 7,1948 she married James Cummings in Angola, Indiana.



 



She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.



 



Surviving are children, Gary (Susan) Of Rotonda West, Florida,



and Randall (Kathy) of Flushing;



 



four grandchildren, James, Michael, Corissa and Ashlee;



 



three great-grandchildren, Lawson, Landon and Grayson;



 



sisters and brother, Theresa Gwost of Lansing,



twin sister, Sophia Ward of Davison,



Clara Wilhite of Flint, Rose Woodliff of DeWitt,



Joseph Respecki of North Branch and



Ursula Prusakievicz of Gaylord;



 



sister-in-law, Marylou MacArthur;



 



many special nieces and nephews;



 



special neighbors, Travis Week and Ruth Furness.



 



Special thanks to the staff of DaVita Dialysis of Flushing.



 



She was preceded in death by beloved husband of 55 years, James C. Cummings and her son, James Cummings.

I had the pleasure of caring for Carrie during her dialysis treatments. I will miss her terribly, she was my favorite! I really loved her. She was a wonderful lady. I'm so sorry for your loss. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Gary and Randy: I will miss her. She was a woman with a sweet heart and God welcomed her with open arms. Please accept my condolences.

Our hearts go out the Cummings Family. Jim and Carrie were very active supporters and provided many memories with Oasis & Hillbilly Shrine Clubs. As Carrie and Jim meet again, we all want to express our deepest sympathy and sorrow to all their family and friends.

Gary and Randy, so sorry for your loss but, her light will always shine. I will remember her fondly, her energy her kindness and her smile. my prayers will be with you.
