After reading these beautiful descriptions of your precious daughter
who is now rejoicing at being united with our Heavenly Father, I'd
like to add my thoughts. It's very obvious she was loved beyond
measure. No doubt she followed examples of Godly living, something I hope you find comfort in now. You prepared her for this journey, & the joy of that will soon replace some of the suffering of the present. It's only natural that you wanted many more years with her, & right now it seems so unfair to lose her at such a young age. I don't have children, but my heart rejoices
when a young person passes & over 160 praising tributes speak boldly of her faith. Her heart was happy & pure, her personality
was a testimony to that. It breaks my heart to even try to imagine
how lost & hurting her family must feel, but above all else, just remember that she has attained the ultimate reward in life!!!
A lot of parents will go thru a lifetime of the grief you are going thru
now. They may not have been an example for their kids to follow, they may have to live with the fact they didn't have a personal relationship with God. I cannot imagine never knowing. You will
have that peace one day. You can be sure the opportunity to be reunited with her will come. Just knowing you gave her all you could, taught her from childhood the path she needed to follow,
what more, than that, can any parent ask for? My heart
was heavy with grief just trying to imagine what you're going thru.
After reading what so many people wrote, especially the younger ones, precious memories will flood your heart & replace some of those tears with smiles. A part of everyday will forever be reserved
for wanting" just one more hug, smile, or the sound of her voice".
I still have those " hurts" but the grief doesn't consume my every
thought. It makes me smile & warms my heart to know what our loved ones have attained. I leaned heavily on Our Lord, He will
never let you go thru this alone. I don't know you, never met your child, but feel sure prayers are covering you in this time of grief.
This obituary touched my heart, & sadly, keeping all the family in my prayers is all I have to offer in the way of comfort. Be strong,
but most of all, be proud you paved the road to Heaven for your
Precious Daughter. One more caring individual.

Carrie was a brightly shining star in the lives of those who were lucky to know her. We first met her on the lacrosse field when she played JV for Chapin and our daughter was on the varsity team. Bethany often spoke of how sweet and funny Carrie was. After the team split and Carrie went to play for Dutch Fork, they met again on the field. When one of our player's mom's passed away tragically, Carrie brought the whole team over to Chapin's side to memorialize that mom and for group hugs - just what our team needed. She was so intuitive of other people's feelings. Carrie became our son Grayson's friend in high school. She was a wonderful friend to him and brought much joy to his life. She was such a special young woman. For those of us who knew her, or whose lives were touched by her, our world is a little dimmer now. Sending our heartfelt condolences to Carrie's family and praying for God's comforting hand to be upon you.

Carrie was one of my best friends when she lived two doors down from me in Yacht Cove. We would hang out almost every day when we were younger.. so we have a lot of memories together, but the memory that stands out the most in my mind is when a group of us young girls were hanging out and one decided to point out one of my biggest insecurities as a kid. It was a really embarrassing and awkward moment, but only for a moment.. because without hesitation Carrie spoke up and made it very clear she didn't appreciate any negative comments made towards anyone. She then preceded to talk to me and made me feel better about the whole thing in an instant..without being rude or mean to anyone. Carrie was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. You don't find people like her in the world.. if everyone was a little bit more like Carrie the world would be a much more beautiful place..much love Melton family. I'm so sorry this happened.. you are all such kind and loving people. No one deserves such tragedy..

I had the pleasure of having Carrie intern with me at Midlands Orthopaedics during the fall of her senior year. I always knew that at 2:00 o'clock when she walked in the door the clinic would brighten. She was always so happy, friendly and just an all around beautiful person. Carrie was a wonderful, beautiful person who brightened our lives and our home. The boys (Logan, Lucas and Liam) simply adored her when she would visit with their big brother Drew. Every time I would say that Drew is coming home to visit they would immediately ask if Carrie was with him. Carrie will be sorely missed.

There are no words to explain how I and so many others are feeling. Losing Carrie was horrifically unexpected and never in a million years did I think I'd ever get this phone call. It doesn't feel real. I am so thankful for the shows I was in with Carrie and the honor to work alongside her and be her friend. I will think of her always.
