Not sure what to say?

In the school year 1975/1976, I had the distinct pleasure to be Carrie's 5th grade teacher at the Union School in Unionville. In my 35 years as a teacher and elementary principal, I have been fortunate to encounter some students who stand out as exceptional in personality, character and academic achievement. Carrie was such a person. Carrie cared about everyone and everyone cared about her. She always had a smile on her face and doing her best in school was important to her. I remember...

I just found out that my Care Bear is gone. We met at Uconn, and spend together many memorable times. Just recently I realized how much she taught me, and how much of a positive influence she was on my life. My tastes in music and literature I owe to Carrie. Good night, beautiful angel. My heartfelt condolences to her loving family.

To the Pickens family, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I went to school with Carrie (junior high and freshman year of high school). I remember her as always being friendly. I also remember sitting in English class talking about U2 with her. Her bright personality and welcoming smile will be missed.

I was so sorry to hear about Carrie. Although I had not seen her since high school, I remember her sweet smile and laugh and how she was always so kind to everyone. I worked with her Mom for many years at UCONN Health Center. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Carrie was an amazing person and I remember when she skipped 5th grade to be in our 6th grade class. Everyone was in awe with her intelligence and talent and humor. She was an important part of my junior high and high school years. I am heartbroken to hear of her passing. Thoughts are with you all. Her classmates from FHS 1982 will miss her.

I am so sorry for the loss of my new friend. I only knew her for short time but she could brighten my day with her smile. My condolences to her family. She will be missed.

Eric & Family,
