Dick passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.  He was born in Berger, Missouri on September 18, 1930, the son of Ernst Blumer and Florence (Engelbrecht) Blumer. His brother John C. Blumer proceeded him in death.


Beloved husband of 69 years of the late Doris Blumer (nee Brashear), loving father of Linda Bruer (Ed) and Lisa Blumer. Cherished grandfather of Everett (Danielle) Bruer and Matthew (Abby) Bruer. Dear uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend to many.  


Dick graduated from Hermann High School, honorably served in the Korean War, and worked for over 40 years for Mercantile Bank in St. Louis.  He was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood as an Elder and since 2003 active at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church in Ballwin. He was a third-degree Mason and a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge in McKittrick, Missouri.  He loved spending time with his family, gardening, playing golf, and rooting on the St. Louis Cardinals.  


Services:  Memorial visitation at Schrader Funeral Home, Manchester at Holloway Road, Saturday, November 29, 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. Interment at St. John’s UCC Cemetery, Berger, Missouri at 1:45 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 601 Claymont Drive, Ballwin, Missouri 63011 would be appreciated.  Friends may sign the family’s on-line guest book @ Schrader.com
