Carroll D Worcester
Lincoln, Maine
Carroll D Worcester husband of the late Shirley (Miller) Worcester, 74 of Lincoln passed away on
February 19, 2015. He was born in Prentiss, Maine on November 21, 1940 the son of Urban Worcester
and Agnes (Moores) Worcester.
Carroll grew up on Thompson Corners in Prentiss, Maine. At a young age he began working on Ray
Thompson's dairy farm. In the early 60's he went to work in the woods for Gerald Moores, taking part in
one of the last log drives down the lakes from "in behind the mountain." While employed by his uncle
Gerald, Carroll and one of his 5 man crews set a Dead River Company record for the most four foot
wood cut and piled in a week. Carroll was self employed with a trucking/logging business during the
sixties and seventies. After shutting down his business and working for several other logging companies,
Carroll worked many years for Thompson Trucking and finished out his career with Robin A Crawford,
Inc. Carroll could run and repair any piece of logging equipment. During his brief retirement, Carroll
could be found in his garage in Lincoln or on his beloved "Corners" tinkering on equipment. He was
always "enhancing" something to meet a particular need. Carroll grew up learning to blacksmith from
his grandfather Seward Worcester and had the same love as Grampie Seward had to invent something
to make a job a little easier.
Carroll is survived by his daughter Kimberly Nevells of Ogunquit, his daughter Robin Jipson and her
husband Hazie of Webster, and son Terry Worcester and wife Michelle of Lee. Carroll is survived by
eight grandchildren: Ian Nevells and friend Annie, Nathan Nevells and wife Kristy, and Leigh Nevells,
Ryan Jipson and fiance Amy, Charity Cole and husband Chris, Joshua Worcester and wife Darrolyn, Terry
Worcester, Deidre Farnham and husband Dennis. Carroll is survived by 17 great-grandchildren: Hailey,
Jakob, Austin, Chase, McKenna, Gavin, Abigail, Arianna, Terry Brian, Isaac, Cameron, Wyatt, Jacob,
Alexis, Dominick, Dylan, and Dennis. Carroll is also survived by two sisters: Georgie Spinney and Joyce
Lancaster and husband Ollie. Carroll is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Carroll was predeceased by his wife of 53 years Shirley. He was also predeceased by a brother Kenneth
and parents.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Spring interment will be at Thompson Cemetery, Prentiss.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Victoria Potter scholarship or the Ralph and
Bernice Averill scholarship at Lee Academy.

Enjoyed Carroll being back on Thompson Corner. Many good discussions and fond memories of walking to the Thompson School, working at Ray Thompson's farm and playing on Ralph Averill's baseball team.
