Kay was the most wonderful mother-in-law. She never had a negative word to say, always complementing and supporting me as a mom and wife.
She was a marvelous lady. A great example to follow.

A lovely tribute to a talented linguist, and judging by how the kids turned out, a wonderful loving Mom.

Kay & Mike have been close friends of ours for well over 50 years. Our kids were born about the same time and we had many wonderful times together. Kay was always cheerful and a gracious hostess. Her firm ethical grounding and abiding faith set the theme for the talented family she and Mike established. We morn the loss of a great friend.

Mrs. Dowsett,
You will be missed! As a young kid growing up in Oregon I have fond memories of the Beach House, soccer practice car rides, swimming in the pool in the back yard and you would Greet your son Chris and I with a smile!
Time and Distance makes me often think of wonderful people, like you, and just exactly when was the last time I ever spoke to you? Darn... just one more time to say a final good bye? When exactly was that??
Time passes.... And its...

She was kindhearted, congenial, and worked hard at her teaching, I shared an apartment with her during her first year of teaching at Newberg, and I saw her lovely picture in The Oregonian. Michael, you might remember me as Ada Stroebel. I'm sorry she is gone and particularly that she had that cruel disease.

Kay was a great person who raised incredible kids. I stayed with the Dowsetts a short while and went to one of Kays night classes at the college and got to watch her teach, its pretty amazing how she taught people to speak English even if she didnt speak their language. Kay was a very classy lady and funny. Im pretty sure Kay knew when we were up to something even though Libby and I thought she didnt. I am grateful to have known such a great person.

Aunt Kay was the epitome of class and was one of the kindest women Ive ever known. Ill never forget her laugh, blonde curls or radiant smile. She always made us kids feel cared for - she was the perfect hostess. Even if we were just dropping by, shed put out an array of sweets and savories, gliding about the kitchen in slippers, with hair perfectly coiffed.
Ive never in my life heard her raise her voice - her charm was the light and levity she brought to every gathering. We all loved...
