I was stunned when I recieved the hurtful news of dear Dr Leevys death. Just with him this past september in his office I told him that I was on my way to saudi arabia and would see him upon my return. His last words to me was to pray for him. Words cannot express how I am feeling at this time. I will truly miss my doctor and friend. Who will treat me whom I will trust now? I love you Dr. Leevy and will profoundly miss you.

Dr Leevy was a good friend of mine. Dr. Leevy treated thousands of Newarks most neediest patients regardless of their insurance or ability to pay for services. The impact of his care was not realized in revenue generated for a given hospital, but in preventing cirrhosis, liver cancer and liver failure in thousands of patients. He was a silent champion for New Jersey's most vulnerable populations afflicted by liver disease. I will miss him.

CB was a good friend of mine. I partnered with him on many projects to raise attention on the plight of the urban poor suffering from chronic hepatitis C and B infection. He prevented thousands of people from developing cirrhosis, liver failure and liver cancer. Newark has lost a great silent urban champion.

As I was sitting in a meeting tonight ... a recent study by Dr. Leevy appeared on screen. "I love him!" I whispered to a woman next to me. He had given a talk in Waterbury previously where his humor was abundant and I fondly remembered a business card he had, given him by the pope, a get to heaven free card, if you will. When she told me he recently had passed ... I felt a shiver down my spine. Heaven is no longer missing an angel.
